Well I am going to begin blogging mine and Brandon's life together. Let's back track a little to the beach and the proposal! (My favorite part)
We went to Gulf Shores, Alabama and it was our first beach trip together, super excited! Plus I hadn't been to the beach in a little over two years! We arrived on Wednesday June 8th and began to unpack and setlle in to our condo. Once we got settle in Lauren and I had to run to the liquor store :) and to the grocery to get food for breakfast and lunch. We were planning to only go out to eat for dinner so we could save some money!! We got back to the condo and unloaded all of our goodies! Once unloaded we went to have our first step in the white sand, the only bad thing was that it was dark so you couldnt really see much of anything. After venturing around the beach for awhile, we went back upstairs to get ready for bed so we could get up BRIGHT AND EARLY for our FIRST day at the beach!! It was like waiting for Christmas morning! We just couldn't wait.
Day One:
The first day on the beach was Thursday June 9th and it was a BEAUTIFUL day!! We couldn't have asked for better weather! We spent the majority of the day lounging around with a few drinks in our hands and splashing around in the water! It was great! After awhile we went up to the room to get ready for our first night out! While getting ready the boys ran off to a great little restaurant and got us tons of shrimp, potatoes, and corn! It was delicious! Once all the food was gone we sat around, drank, and even played a few drinking games.
Our first night we went to a great little restaurant/bar called The Hangout. They had live bands, little shops, and games to play. It was quite fun! My all time favorite thing about the first night was Lauren's famous quote of "Long Hair, Don't Care"!! It was soooo funny!!
Day Two:
Day two went pretty much the same as day one! Got up, ate breakfast, packed a cooler, and headed down to the beach! It was another beautiful day!
Day Three:
Saturday June 11, 2010. This was the big day! I was not expecting anything at all! Nothing seemed unusual to me. We started our day like we normally had with getting up, getting ready and going to the beach. We spent a few hours at the beach, went up ate some lunch, then headed back down. Around 3ish we headed up to get ready to take our beach pictures. Once we were all dolled up we headed down to the beach. We had previously scouted out a few places to take some pictures. The first spot Lauren and Daniel went first, we took about 10 of them, then switched. Brandon and I did the typical poses and then moved on to our next spot. The second spot was in front of some fence rows, Daniel and Lauren went first (later on I was told they were trying to stall because Brandon was nervous lol). Next Brandon and I went for some pictures. We took one picture and then I hit him upside the head and asked "What is wrong with you, your not too into this". I kinda just chuckled and moved on. We took a few more pictures and I noticed something fishy was going on. There were quite a few clues 1)Brandon was fidgety the whole time we were down there, 2) everytime I would look up at Dan and Lauren they would just have this look on their face with a smile like they were up to something, and 3) Brandon would NOT take his hand out of his pocket.
Now comes the BIG moment.... In between our pictures Brandon is moving around to a different spot and he comes up to me, drops to one knee, and..... kind of froze for a minute, then said "Whitney, will you marry me?" He was so nervous and it was the cutest thing I had ever seen! He was starting to get teary eyed when all I could come out and say was "Are you serious!!!", his response "No, I'm just down here for no reason". Of course as you can tell I said yes! That moment was the most amazing moment of my life! I couldn't be happier to be marrying the perfect guy for me!
After some group pictures and of course some pictures of us showing off our rings, we went upstairs to make a few phone calls!
First call....Mom and Dad! But of course they already knew because Brandon had already asked for their permission and he called them the day before to tell them he would be proposing! They couldn't be happier! They love Brandon like he is already part of our family!
Next couple phone calls were to some of my best friends...which my first two did NOT answer!! haha But they called back! :)
Later that night, we went out to do a little celebrating!
Day Four:
This was just another beach day for us, except this time I woke up with a ring on my finger and the man of my dreams laying next to me! :)
We spent the whole day lounging, drinking, and swimming!
Later that night we began to pack up because we would be leaving the next morning! We packed up as much as we could and hit the bed early since we planned on getting up at 4:30 the next day!
Day Five:
This was a day spent traveling back home and unpacking!
I had the most amazing trip of my life during that week! I went with a boyfriend and came back with a fiance! The whole week was absolutely perfect!!
Now, let the wedding planning begin....
